If his patients smell a faint odor of chlorine around him it’s probably because he’s training for his next Ironman. Ask to see his shaved legs! Dr Garn and his wife Rebecca have 5 kids. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Brian W. Mason, DDS

Dr. Cain
Dr. Cain received both his dental degree and orthodontic specialty training from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. He has taught orthodontic residents from across the U.S. and around the world through the Tweed International Orthodontic Association and brings extensive experience with a wide range of appliances, braces, and clear aligners to our practice. He is passionate about helping patients transform their smiles into lifelong sources of confidence. Originally from a family of sports lovers, Dr. Cain grew up playing basketball and baseball, and remains an avid fan of football, basketball, and hockey—especially the Oklahoma Sooners, Phoenix Suns, and Arizona Cardinals. He once caught a flying puck one-handed at a hockey game, saving a fellow fan and earning a spot on the jumbotron (and a standing ovation). Just instinct, he says—no big deal. When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Dr. Cain on the golf course, supporting local coffee shops, or spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their two Great Danes, Magnolia, and Ace. He volunteers through his church and the local Elks Lodge and believes a strong cup of coffee and a loyal heart can take you far.
Our incredible team is passionate about delivering an amazing patient experience with every patient visit. Knowledgeable and friendly experts, our treatment coordinators and technicians are a key element in creating the smartest smiles. Could there be a nicer team in town? If you find one, join it.

Board-Certified Orthodontists
There are a ton of orthodontists in town, and even some dentists who haven’t been trained as orthodontists but offer treatment. There are lots of factors to consider in choosing an orthodontist. We believe that one of the most important should be whether or not they are board certified.
What Does “Board-Certified” Mean?
A board certified orthodontist is an orthodontist who has voluntarily gone through hundreds of additional hours of preparation to demonstrate their judgment, skills, and knowledge required for providing the highest level of patient care. And they have achieved board certification through the American Board of Orthodontics, the only orthodontics specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and in affiliation with the American Association of Orthodontists.
A board certified orthodontist is committed to the highest level of patient care including a comprehensive treatment approach to ensure quality work. And board certified orthodontists must renew their certification every 10 years to demonstrate their continuous commitment to excellence.
Are There a Lot of Board-Certified Orthodontists Around?
No, there are not. In fact here in the Valley of the Sun, there are very few. We’re talking less than 30% of the orthodontists in town are board certified. But guess who is conveniently located in Mesa, Queen Creek and the Gilbert/Chandler area and is board certified: these guys!
Why Does Board-Cerification Matter?
It really does. Your smile is forever. An orthodontic treatment gone wrong could prolong treatment, be more painful than necessary, cause you to lose teeth unnecessarily, permanently damage your bite and cause other complications such as TMJ or premature wear and tear on your teeth.
