Types of Aligners
Not all aligners are created equal. The biggest difference is not the brand name on the box. It is who plans your treatment and who keeps an eye on it along the way.
Invisalign® Clear Aligners
One of the most widely used aligner systems in the world, and the one our orthodontists offer at all three offices. Your series is planned from an iTero digital scan and fine-tuned by your orthodontist as your teeth move.
Invisalign Teen®
Built for growing smiles, with eruption tabs that leave room for teeth still coming in. A practical pick for teens who play sports, perform, or would rather keep brackets out of their school photos.
Other Aligner Brands
You may have heard of other orthodontist-prescribed systems, such as Spark™ or ClearCorrect®. They work on the same principle: custom trays, a doctor-designed plan, and regular check-ins. If a friend or an ad mentioned another brand, bring it up at your consultation, and we will explain how it compares to your case.
What to Expect During Aligner Treatment
1. Complimentary Consultation
Come in, ask every question on your list, and leave knowing what comes next. We will examine your teeth and bite, explain which type of aligner (or braces) fits your case, and tell you whether to start treatment now or wait.
2. iTero Digital Scan and Treatment Plan
No gooey impression trays here. Our iTero scanner captures a precise 3D model of your teeth, and your orthodontist uses it to map out every stage of your tooth movement before a single tray is made.
3. Attachments and Your First Aligners
If your plan calls for attachments, we bond them at this visit, with no needles and no drilling. You will leave with your first trays, clear instructions on your wear schedule, and a few tips for keeping everything clean.
4. Switching Trays and Check-In Visits
You will move to each new set of trays on the schedule your orthodontist sets, and you will come in periodically so we can confirm your teeth are tracking to plan. We schedule carefully to ensure you’re seen on time.
5. Retainers and Retention
When you finish your last tray, your attachments come off, and you move into a retainer to keep your new smile where it belongs. Your orthodontist will explain exactly how to wear it.
Why Choose Garn & Mason for Your Aligners
We take orthodontics seriously. Ourselves, a little less so. That means relaxed, friendly visits with specialists who sweat every detail of your treatment. Here is what you can count on when you choose aligners at Garn & Mason:
- Love your results or your money back: Follow your recommended treatment plan, wear schedule included, and we guarantee the best possible result from your treatment, or your money back.
- Seen on time, every time: We carefully schedule each appointment so you can count on being seen on time.
- Orthodontic specialists in every case: An orthodontist plans and monitors your aligners from the first scan to the final retainer, not a mail-order service.
- Trusted since 1961: Straightening East Valley smiles for more than six decades, and voted a Phoenix Magazine Top Doctor practice 14 times since 2007.
- Three East Valley offices: Mesa, Queen Creek, and Chandler/Gilbert, so your check-in visits stay close to home.
- Flexible payment options: We accept most insurance plans and offer financing. Explore financing or see PatientFi monthly plans.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are aligners better than braces?
Neither one wins across the board. Aligners are discreet and removable, while braces work around the clock without depending on your wear habits, and still handle the most complex bite correction best. Your orthodontist will recommend the option that fits your case, not the trendiest one.
Do aligners hurt?
Most people feel some pressure for a day or two after switching to a new set of trays. That pressure means your teeth are moving, and it usually fades quickly. With no brackets or wires, nothing will poke your cheeks along the way.
Am I too old for aligners?
No. Healthy teeth can move at any age, and aligners are a popular choice for adults who want to straighten their smile without anyone noticing. See our approach to orthodontics at every age.
How much do aligners cost?
Cost depends on the aligner type and how much your teeth need to move, so we give you real numbers at your complimentary consultation instead of a guess. We accept most insurance plans and offer financing options, and our team will walk you through both before treatment starts.
